“The Reluctant Entrepreneur”
I didn’t always get excited when talking to people about business and their careers. In fact, I think it’s safe to say I had an aversion to business. When I started out in private practice, I saw myself as a therapist but did not identify as a business owner. I did the bare minimum to establish and maintain my business while investing all of my time, money, and energy into developing and honing my clinical skills as a therapist. As a result, I became an excellent therapist while treating my business like a hobby.
Then, perhaps like you, I reached a point where I knew something had to change. I was passionate about what I was doing, but I was also burned out. I knew I wanted more out of my career but I had no idea where to start or how to go about making changes. That’s where coaching came in. With a blend of support, encouragement and challenging, a coach helped me achieve my business goals. Now I love helping others do the same.
Because of my background as a therapist, I bring to the coaching experience a more holistic approach. I understand that our professional lives are inextricably linked with our personal lives and we cannot flourish in one area while neglecting another. Working with me means taking a whole life inventory and determining where improvements can be made to support all of your goals.
